I do not normally post on Saturdays. Today is a fun exception. I have about 50 varieties of dahlias in my garden. Today I am posting photos of several more dahlias. In the order that they appear (from top to bottom):
- Helen's Carl
- Oretti Adele
- Nanna's Kiss
- Sir Alf Ramsey
- Cream Kerkrade
- Aubry Grace

Could we persuade you to take a wide shot of your garden. These dahlias are just spectacular. Bet your whole garden looks like a corner of heaven!
My garden is still in the development stage. Just over a year ago I lost all of my dahlias—it’s a long story. Before the loss of the dahlias I would keep three dahlia tubers of each type of dahlia and give away all of the rest of them (some times that would be a couple of hundred tubers). Each type of dahlia stood out in that type of configuration. In my current situation I have just a few dahlias “tripled” or “doubled” – most are singles. Additionally, most of the varieties are new to me this year. To fit them all in my current space I have them closer together than they really should be. This makes some of the dahlias hard to see—kind of like how it is hard to see a single tree in the midst of a forest. Some of my most beautiful dahlias are hard to see because they are surrounded by taller dahlia plants. This situation will be corrected next year.
Next year I will be glad to take a picture of the dahlia garden. This year’s garden is has beautiful flowers but poor planning.
