It can and should be about recognizing that we live in a nation and a world that is diverse and that life might be a bit better if we stopped shouted at each other and started listening and learning from one another. Pentecost is a wonderful day, a holy day, it is a day of recognizing that from many languages comes the message of God's transforming presence -- yes in Jesus Christ. I for one will observe with my church Pluralism Sunday by, as John says, inviting everyone to the birthday party.
